There are many expectations on how new mums ‘should’ feel. The reality is that most new mums find it extremely difficult adjusting to motherhood. For many reasons there is often less support for new mums than previous generations experienced, and the oversupply of information can lead to feeling confused and lost. At times a combination of not enough sleep, uncertainty around caring for a new baby, and a major change of life roles can lead to postnatal depression and anxiety.
