Conscious combat club

Conscious Combat is not fighting. It combines consciousness with the physicality of martial arts to allow us to move from a state of self-defence to offense. By allowing ourselves to explore our vulnerabilities and process our trauma, we are able to discover our body’s full strength and capability. By teaching combat in a conscious way, guided by trauma-informed principles, we aim to help people expand their window of tolerance.

The Conscious Combat Club was founded by Georgia in response to gender-based violence, particularly violence against women. We welcome all women to join The Conscious Combat Club, including LGBTQ+ women and gender diverse people who identify with womanhood. They are on a journey towards including people of all genders in our program, explicitly including sexuality and/or gender diverse people.

Classes are not focused on how your body looks or what it can do, instead it focusses on how powerful your body feels. It provides a safe space to explore your window of tolerance and practice grounding while having fun and learning new skills. No experience is required. Classes are held weekly at Person Centred Psychology in small groups of up to 6 people.
