Postnatal depression & anxiety

There are many expectations on how new parents ‘should’ feel. The reality is that most new mums and dads find it extremely difficult adjusting to parenthood. For many reasons there is often less support for new parents than previous generations experienced, and the oversupply of information can lead to feeling confused and lost. At times a combination of not enough sleep, uncertainty around caring for a new baby, and a major change of life roles can lead to postnatal depression and anxiety. Our psychologists are experienced in working with new parents to increase confidence and develop strategies for coping.
